About us
We provide financial support to our partners PUSS (Palli Unnayan Seva Samiti), an organisation which provides care and education for children living in poverty.
We also help support the work of SOCH (Society for children), which rescues runaway children from the railways of India and provides support and rehabilitation to adolescents with troubled lives.
We do this with fundraising events and with support from our wonderful regular and one-off donors.
We cannot provide the support we do without help .
Every penny we raise goes to the children.

Our trustees are all volunteers and when supporters and committee members visit Orissa regularly, which they do, they do so either on other work or are self-funded so none of the money we raise is used for this purpose.

Who we are
Friends of the children of Orissa is a Registered Charity, set up in 1992 to support a school for destitute children in Orissa (now officially known as Odisha) which is one of India’s poorest states.
Our board of trustees all volunteer their time and expertise, so all the money we raise through regular donations and fundraising goes to support the children, not on salaries and promotion.
Who we’re raising funds for
PUSS provides safe accommodation, food and education for girls aged between 4 and 18. Many of the children live at the school full time although there are some who travel to school on a bus from local slums.
